A wonderful day today, Vicky looked amazing in a stunning dress. The bridesmaids looked equally beautiful, and Scott and Logan both turned out tops.

Lovely heartfelt messages on both sides of the family, and all in all a very nice day.

Nicky & Gordons Wedding

Nicki & Gordons day was great fun to work on. Started with the normal chaos at the brides prep, with lots of people, including lots of young children, fighting for the bathroom and the hairdryer - all good stuff.

The church at Kellington is wonderful, a Norman building with early Saxon elements too. The vicar gave a lovely service.

Then out to the helicopter for the flight to Burntwood for the reception. I have to admit this is the bit I was half excited about but at the same time half dreading! The 45-knot gusty wind didn’t help much, watching the pilot (who was brilliant by the way) pulling the controls this way and that as we were buffeted south-bound.

But I had a job to do, photos to take, so I quickly got over the nerves and it actually was a great experience.

Burntwood was another first for me, a great venue with excellent staff and service.
Nicki and Gordon looked amazing, and all was good today.

Pontefract Park is one of those places I have driven past a million times, and hardly ever visited.
Luckily there wasn’t a race meeting on today, so it was pretty quiet.

We had a nice stroll round, chatted, oh and took a few pictures too!

Looking forward to the big day in a few weeks, I even get a flight in the helicopter to the venue - cool!

All week we have been watching the weather forecast and hoping it would stay dry for the big day. The promise was that rain would not show until 4pm, so we were happy.

However it made an early appearance, and tried to wash us out mid-groups. Luckily we were able to use a mixture of photographic skill (naturally!), luck, a large tree and umbrellas, to finish the big shots off on time.

All in all it was a lovely day, and its a nice feeling being a part of such a special day for so many people. I never tire of weddings, they are all different in their own way.

First time photographing at the Kyte Hotel in Darrington. Newly refurbished and lovely helpful staff.

Some bright spark suggested a photo shoot in the neighbouring corn field. What, climbing over a broken fence, through a gap in a hedge and scrambling through waist high corn, in an expensive wedding dress and heels? How mad?

Janine, surprisingly, was up for a laugh, and as a result we got some amazing images. A great day all round.

Lovely weather to be doing portraits in the back garden. And they had tidied up the garden specially too, which was nice!

This was one of the rare occasions where I had double booked, and needed the help of another photographer.

Fortunately David Goodier stepped into the breach, and did a magnificent job for me. By all accounts this was a fun wedding, and the sun shone bright on them.

St Marys Church looks beautiful inside, and the bride and groom looked fabulous.

It was the first time I have been to Consibrough Castle, despite driving past it a thousand times.

Very impressive site, and lovely to visit, especially when the weather was as beautiful as today.
Possibly a bit too bright, and not many places to shelter from it, but we had a good time nonetheless.

With the wedding in July, fingers crossed we have similar luck with the weather!

Spent today with Mark & Sarah, and their family and friends, in Eckington Church (lovely old listed building) and then at Kenwood Hall. Done a couple of weddings there now, and the lakes and gardens are beautiful for photography.
Special thanks to Sarah & Mark for inviting us to dine with them. Lovely food.

Brooklands is becoming a second home for us these days.
The food there is great, and the staff are on the ball. I hear the bridal suite is a bit special too.
Done a few weddings at Ecclesfield Church too, it is lovely for photo’s, and the Curate does a lovely job.
Fiona looked amazing, and Stephen scrubbed up well too.

The Athena Beach Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, was a stunning setting for last weeks wedding shoot.
Marie and Garry both looked amazing following a week of sunshine before the wedding day.
Water was calm, sun was hot and the sunset was beautiful.
A good congregation of family and friends made this a very warm event in every respect.
As always, a pleasure to be part of the special day.

Sheffield Hallam University Graduation Ball

Setting up a portable studio is never fun, its a lot of heavy lifting and carrying, hard work and lots of testing and adjustments. We started in the morning and managed to get everything set by lunchtime. Then a quick break and back for the evening.

So many beautiful girls in gorgeous ball gowns, men in exquisite formal attire and an evening of laughter from beginning to end. Sure did make up for all that sweat and toil!

It was a big wedding, 160 guests, at least (and they all said I wouldn’t manage to get a BIG photo of everybody)!

Bishop Hall was the most relaxed minister I have encountered in any church, and the choir sang beautifully. Such amazing strong voices were worthy of a place in any talent show final.

Everybody was full of love and affection, and the word Rejoice really came into its own.

I had a great time, and I know everyone else did too. The bridesmaids and page boys all looked stunning and Fe looked amazing.

Kevins shoes were something of a statement too! I doubt I could have carried them off the way he did.

It was another early start and driving via Mum and Dads to drop the kids off. Then on to Featherstone where the nerves were kicking in a little!

But once the cars were off and we were all at the venue the sun shone and everybody was happy.

It was another lovely day and again great fun to photograph.

Such a nice warm couple and a happy family. I know this wedding will be good fun.
I must admit to being a little nervous about the three chief bridesmaids though, I can tell they will be a handful!

Kevin and Fiona seem so chilled out, I can’t imagine there will be too many wedding day nerves to contend with.

The mad scot left her home in an amazing Rolls Royce Phantom. Little did we know she had secretly rehearsed a song to serenade her new husband. I’m not good at weddings, and spent most of this one blubbering behind the lens. If the photos are out of focus it because of the tears!

Sunday was full of emotion, lovely words at the ceremony and a real warmth to the whole event.

Even the wedding co-ordinator was in tears (and I don’t think it was due to everyone being late!).

The rain didn’t stop play on Saturday, although it tried its best. Jemma & Lee were laughing all the way. The reception at Cusworth Hall was lovely and some beautiful cars helped along the way.

I did my Walter Raleigh bit with the coat on the floor, to protect Jemmas dress from the puddles.

And the real ale was flowing as soon as bums were on seats!
